I hope all your children are excited about the school year. I know I am!

A little about me; This is my 32nd year of teaching. It doesn't seem that
long. I love it like it is my first year!
I received my undergraduate degree in education at Sam Houston State University-Go Bearkats!! I also received my
Masters in Administration from Sam Houston State as well.

I have two children; Erin is 27 and is a graduate of Sam Houston State with a
psychology degree. She got married on August 22, 2015 and lives in Huntsville where she is a manager of a bakery called The Best Box Ever and she also owns her own farmers market called Roberts Roots and Fruits.
Brett is 22 and attends Lone Star Junior College majoring in business/finance. He will begin attending University of Houston in the summer of 2017.
My husband's name is Daryn and we have been married for 31 years. We also
have three dogs, 20 cows, and pigeons. I believe that is enough pets for one family!

I hope to connect with each of your children in a way
so they can be successful this year. Please call or email any time
you have questions.

Thanks for being supportive! This is going to be a great year!

Monday, May 14

Next week is HUGE at TIS...Monday, Tuesday, AND Wednesday are STAAR testing days!

In order to PUMP OUR STUDENTS up, we are inviting ANY AVAILABLE FAMILY MEMBER (moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, etc) to come to cheer on the kids as they enter the building on Monday, May 14th.

SO SIMPLE.... come Monday morning, pick the perfect spot to stand at the entrance nearest to the cafeteria OR at the bus ramps.  As kids enter the building, give them high fives, hand shakes, & a lot of WOOHOOs to show our support.

Remember since all of our students are testing next week, this cheer session is for everyone.  We want each of them to know that their families support & believe in them.  See you on the sidewalk on Monday morning at 7:10am.

Visitors are not allowed on campus on any of the 3 days so please stay on the sidewalks.

Testing days

Monday - STAAR Math 6th; Tuesday - STAAR Reading 6th; Wednesday - STAAR Science 5th

STAAR Practice

If you are interested in additional practice for STAAR, here is a link with great resources, notes, and practice problems. I have also uploaded the link to my homepage on my website.

School Supplies

FYI:
Please make sure your student has school supplies for the new year.  They are coming to class with one pencil that they own.  Some are having to borrow or take mine.

Thank you so much!
