Dear Parents,
My name is Danielle Pils. I am a Reading and Dyslexia Specialist here at TIS. My job is to work with students that have dyslexia and any other students that need reading intervention.
I have been teaching since 1990! I have taught First grade, ESL PK-5, Reading Recovery, Reading Intervention and now Dyslexia/Reading Specialist. I have taught a long time however I still love what I do. It is always such a fun challenge to reach every child that comes to my room. Children learn best when they are excited and have self-confidence. That’s my job-- to build upon what they already know while new concepts are introduced. (Yet still have fun) This reduces the fear of failure and increases the desire to learn.
This class focuses on the accurate and fluent word recognition, encoding and decoding, all to improve reading comprehension. These strategies together create independent problem solving readers.
I look forward to meeting and working with your children. Please email any questions or concerns you may have.
