A Special Message from the Principal, Samora Davis

Hello TIS Parents/Guardians,

I hope that you all had a safe weekend and that you took time to enjoy the beautiful weather! I want to thank everyone for the kind words, gifts, and handwritten notes for Principal Appreciation Month. The students wrote notes and created math word problems about me, and this really touched my heart. I truly love what I do, and it is a pleasure to serve TIS! Below are updates and reminders for this week.

Lunch Visitors

We are welcoming parents back on campus to enjoy lunch with their children on assigned days to avoid overcrowding in the cafeteria. We love seeing our students' faces when their lunch visitors arrive! Please be reminded that all school visitors must have a valid driver's license available upon entry to TIS. Assigned lunch visitors are divided over 4 days, Monday through Thursday. Assigned alpha days for 2 lunch visitors per student are as as follows:

Monday: Last Name A-E

Tuesdays: Last Name F-M

Wednesdays: Last Name N-R

Thursdays: S-Z

All lunch visitors must sign up in advance using the link below during their student's assigned lunch time only. Due to limited space, we are only allowing two lunch visitors per student, per lunch.

Nurse Clinic Updates for 6th grade Parents

Parents, please remember to provide a copy of all updated school required vaccination records (TDap and MCV-4 for 6th graders going to 7th grade next year) to the school nurse, Alison Schreiber, if your child has already had these two vaccinations.

Great Expectations Focus

Our Life Principle of the Week is 'Service'. Students will be discussing 'Service' with their Homeroom classes this week! Below are questions that help you have discussions with your child this week about service.

  1. Service means giving of one’s time and energy to help others.  Please share one time that you served or helped someone else.
  2. Please share one time that someone has helped you.
  3. Many careers that we have discussed during “Working on our Future Wednesday” and other careers that you might know about involve service to others.  Please share one career that is service oriented (focuses on helping others).
